About Us

Sporting Clube de Braga, widely known as SC Braga, is a prominent Portuguese professional football club and multi-sport organisation based in Braga, northern Portugal. Founded on 19 January 1921, the club has developed into one of the country's established football institutions, competing regularly at the highest levels of Portuguese football and in European competitions. Its traditional colours are red and white, and its teams are associated with the nicknames “Os Arsenalistas” and “Os Guerreiros do Minho,” reflecting the club's identity and its connection with the Minho region. SC Braga's senior men's football team competes in Portugal's top professional division and plays its home matches at Estádio Municipal de Braga, a distinctive stadium constructed for UEFA Euro 2004 and recognised for its striking architectural design. The club has enjoyed significant domestic success, winning the Taça de Portugal in 1965–66, 2015–16 and 2020–21, as well as the Portuguese League Cup in 2012–13, 2019–20 and 2023–24. Its European achievements include winning the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2008–09 and reaching the UEFA Europa League final in 2011. Beyond the men's first team, SC Braga operates an extensive sporting structure that includes women's football, youth football, futsal, athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball, badminton, taekwondo, beach soccer and several other disciplines. Its youth development system aims to identify and nurture talented players through age-group teams, structured coaching, competitive experience and performance development. The club also invests in sports education, community engagement, commercial partnerships and initiatives designed to connect athletes, supporters, schools and local organisations. Through its academy and training facilities, SC Braga seeks to develop technical ability, tactical understanding, physical preparation, teamwork and professional discipline. The organisation maintains a broad operational structure covering sporting management, recruitment, coaching, performance analysis, medical support, communications, marketing, sponsorship, ticketing and administration. Its commercial and community activities contribute to the wider development of sport in the Braga region. With a strong regional identity, an expanding sporting structure and a history of domestic and European achievements, SC Braga continues to pursue competitive excellence while developing emerging talent and strengthening its relationship with supporters and the local community.
