San Diego Football Club, commonly known as San Diego FC (SDFC), is a professional soccer club based in San Diego, California, United States. Founded in 2023, the club became Major League Soccer's 30th expansion team and began MLS competition in the 2025 season. San Diego FC plays its home matches at Snapdragon Stadium and is part of the Right to Dream football network. The club was established through a local ownership group led by Sir Mohamed Mansour, the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, and other investors, with a vision of creating a San Diego-centric football organisation. SDFC's sporting philosophy is closely connected to the Right to Dream model, which combines football development with education, character development, and opportunities for talented young players. The organisation also operates the San Diego FC Academy, providing a pathway for youth players to develop within a professional environment. The club's identity is strongly rooted in the region, with its crest featuring 18 lines representing the 18 communities of San Diego County and symbolising the idea of different communities being woven together. San Diego FC uses Chrome and Azul as its primary colours and promotes the "Flow With Us" identity. Beyond first-team football, SDFC is focused on community engagement, youth development, inclusion, partnerships, and creating opportunities for local players and supporters. The club has rapidly developed its commercial and sporting operations since its foundation, including partnerships with regional organisations and investment in training and performance infrastructure.
