    About Us

Norrby IF, formally known as Norrby Idrottsförening, is a Swedish football club based in Borås, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. Founded in 1927, the club has established itself as an important part of the local sporting community. Its identity is reflected in its blue-and-white colours and its motto, “En klubb – många hjärtan,” meaning “One club – many hearts.” Norrby IF combines competitive football with youth development, community participation, and local partnership activities.

The club’s senior men’s team competes in Sweden’s football league system and has experience playing in the Superettan, the country’s second tier. Norrby IF has also participated in lower national divisions, reflecting the competitive and financial challenges faced by clubs outside the top division. Its home matches are associated with Borås Arena, a modern football stadium shared with other football activities in the city.

Youth development is an important part of the club’s operations. Norrby IF runs youth teams and an academy structure designed to develop players through age-group football, coaching, technical training, and competitive matches. The club seeks to provide young players with opportunities to progress towards senior football and potentially reach higher levels of the Swedish game. Its academy programmes include teams across several youth age groups and encourage discipline, teamwork, and sporting development.

Beyond the pitch, Norrby IF maintains relationships with local businesses, supporters, schools, and the wider Borås community. Its commercial network offers opportunities for businesses to establish partnerships, build professional relationships, and support local football. The club also organises tournaments and youth football events, creating opportunities for participation and community engagement.

As a nonprofit sports association, Norrby IF operates with a broader purpose than first-team results alone. Its work brings together senior football, youth development, supporter engagement, local partnerships, and community activities. The club’s longstanding presence in Borås and its commitment to developing young footballers make it a recognised organisation within Swedish regional football.
