Founded on 15 May 1912 in the Vasastan district, the club has developed into an established community sports organisation serving the areas of Kungsholmen and Vasastan. Its main sporting activities include football and floorball. Football is the club's principal activity, with senior men's and women's teams competing in the Swedish football league system. The club also operates an extensive youth development programme, providing opportunities for children and young people across different age groups. Its football structure includes grassroots teams, youth teams, selected development squads and senior teams. Karlbergs BK places considerable emphasis on player development, coaching, teamwork, participation and creating an inclusive sporting environment. The club's youth activities are an important part of its identity, helping young players develop technical ability, tactical understanding, discipline and social skills through organised training and competition. The club also has a floorball section, which broadens its sporting activities and provides additional opportunities for local participation. Karlbergs BK works with coaches, team managers, volunteers, employees, families, sponsors and community partners to manage its sporting operations and support its development. Its activities extend beyond competitive football to include youth engagement, community participation and the promotion of physical activity. The club's home activities are centred around facilities on Kungsholmen, including Stadshagens IP. With more than a century of sporting history, Karlbergs BK continues to contribute to local football and grassroots sports in Stockholm. Its combination of senior competitive teams, youth development and community-based sporting activities makes it an established organisation within Swedish local football.
