Jagiellonia Białystok is a professional football club based in Białystok, in northeastern Poland. Founded on 30 May 1920, the club is widely known as “Jaga” and “Duma Podlasia,” meaning the Pride of Podlasie. Its traditional yellow-and-red colours and strong connection with the Podlaskie region are central to its identity. Over more than a century, Jagiellonia has developed from a local sporting institution into an established name in Polish professional football.
The club’s senior men’s team competes in the Ekstraklasa, Poland’s top football division. Jagiellonia achieved a major milestone by winning its first Polish league championship in the 2023–24 season. Other notable achievements include Polish Cup and Polish Super Cup honours, as well as appearances in European competitions. These accomplishments have increased the club’s visibility beyond Poland and strengthened its position in domestic football.
Jagiellonia plays its home matches at Chorten Arena, formerly known as Stadion Miejski, in Białystok. The stadium provides the setting for league fixtures, cup matches and other football events, while its supporters contribute to the club’s strong regional following.
Youth development is an important component of the organisation. The club operates youth teams and academy programmes designed to identify and develop players through age-group football, technical coaching, tactical education, physical preparation and competitive experience. Its development structure provides young footballers with opportunities to progress through the club’s teams towards senior-level competition. The wider sporting operation also includes recruitment, scouting, coaching, performance analysis, medical support and player welfare.
In addition to football, Jagiellonia maintains commercial relationships with sponsors, local businesses, suppliers and institutional partners. Its activities include ticketing, merchandising, matchday operations, marketing, media communications and supporter engagement. The club also uses football to promote healthy lifestyles, youth participation and connections with the local community.
Jagiellonia Białystok combines a long-established regional identity with the professional structure of a modern football organisation. Its domestic achievements, youth development work and growing European experience make it a significant contributor to the sporting culture of northeastern Poland.
