Gulf United FC is a privately owned professional football club and academy based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Founded in 2019, the organisation was established with the aim of creating a complete football ecosystem that connects grassroots development, academy football, professional player development and senior competitive football within one structure. The club currently competes in the UAE First Division, the second tier of Emirati football, after progressing rapidly through the UAE football pyramid. Gulf United began its competitive journey in the UAE Football Association pyramid in 2021 and achieved consecutive promotions, establishing itself as one of the UAE's most successful privately owned football projects. The club's first-team structure is closely integrated with its academy, with a stated focus on developing young players and creating opportunities for academy graduates to progress into senior football. Recent club communications have highlighted the involvement of teenage players in important First Division matches, reinforcing the organisation's emphasis on providing a genuine pathway from youth football to the professional game. The academy currently serves 600+ players aged 4–23, representing 83 nationalities, and operates programmes spanning grassroots football, professional development and university scholarship pathways. Gulf United states that it has placed more than 100 players into scholarship opportunities and works with US and Canadian university partners. The academy trains at Kings' School Al Barsha in Dubai and provides UEFA-qualified coaching across its player-development programmes. The club has also developed an international-facing identity through partnerships and commercial relationships. It describes itself as the first grassroots academy in the Middle East to partner with adidas and maintains an official partnership with Arsenal FC. Its organisational structure includes academy, professional development, scholarship and first-team programmes, supported by medical, commercial, finance, marketing and football-development functions. Gulf United's current operations are centred in Dubai, where the club continues to combine youth development with senior professional football. Its stated objective is to provide a complete player pathway, from introductory football for young children through elite development, scholarship opportunities and professional competition.
