About Us

FC Midtjylland is a Danish professional football club based in Herning, Central Jutland. The club was established in 1999 through the merger of two local clubs, Ikast fS and Herning Fremad, with the objective of creating a strong football organisation capable of competing at the highest level in Denmark. Despite its relatively short history, FC Midtjylland quickly established itself as one of Denmark’s leading football clubs. Its first season in the new colours resulted in promotion to the Danish Superliga, and the club has remained a major force in Danish football ever since. FC Midtjylland won its first Danish championship in 2015 and subsequently added league titles in 2018, 2020 and 2024. The club has also won the Danish Cup in 2019, 2022 and 2026. Its success has extended to European competition, including qualification for the UEFA Champions League in 2020, representing an important milestone in the club’s development. One of FC Midtjylland’s defining characteristics is its emphasis on innovation, data analysis and player development. In 2004, the club established Denmark’s first football academy, creating a structured pathway for developing young players. The academy has subsequently become a major part of the club’s sporting model, with FC Midtjylland winning numerous Danish U19 championships. The organisation continues to combine academy development with recruitment, performance analysis and an increasingly international approach to talent development. The club plays its home matches at MCH Arena in Herning. Its training and football-development activities also extend to Ikast, where the club's training facilities are located. FC Midtjylland's official headquarters are at Kaj Zartows Vej 5, 7400 Herning. The organisation operates as a privately held spectator-sports business and reports a company size of 201–500 employees on LinkedIn. Its activities extend beyond the first team to include youth football, academy operations, women's football, commercial activities, sporting events and hospitality. FC Midtjylland has also developed a distinctive identity around innovation and ambitious football development. The club describes itself as a family-oriented organisation driven by continuous improvement and high standards, while its current identity emphasises the values and regional heritage that have shaped the club since its formation.
