Elite Sport UAE (ESUAE) is a UAE-based government sports organisation established to strengthen the country's high-performance sporting system and support the development of athletes capable of achieving success at international competitions. It operates as part of the UAE Sports Sector Strategy and works with the Ministry of Sport, national sports federations, the UAE Olympic and Paralympic Committees, sports councils, clubs and academies. Its central role is to coordinate expertise, resources and strategic initiatives across the UAE sports ecosystem. ESUAE focuses on developing structured athlete pathways, from grassroots participation and talent identification to elite-level performance. Its work includes supporting national sports federations in designing long-term performance strategies, allocating resources, improving coaching systems and strengthening sports science capabilities. The organisation also promotes data-driven performance management, using athlete assessments and performance indicators to support informed decisions about training, competition preparation and athlete development. An important part of its activities is the National Framework for categorising athletes according to their potential, current performance and stage of development. This framework helps guide funding and support towards established high-performance athletes and emerging talent. ESUAE also works with sports-sector partners to identify promising athletes through physical and psychological assessments and to create appropriate development programmes. Its approach incorporates technical training, strength and conditioning, nutrition, psychological development, mental well-being and life skills. In addition, the organisation monitors and evaluates high-performance initiatives to assess the effectiveness of funding and ensure that resources are aligned with agreed sporting objectives. Its headquarters are located in the Ministry of Sport building on Baghdad Street in the Al Nahda area of Dubai. Through collaboration with national and international sporting stakeholders, Elite Sport UAE seeks to strengthen the UAE's athlete development system and improve the country's competitiveness in global sport.
