About Us

Bradford City AFC is a professional football club based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, and is popularly known as “The Bantams.” Founded in 1903, the club has a long and distinctive history within English football and is deeply connected with the Bradford community. Bradford City plays its home matches at the University of Bradford Stadium, historically known as Valley Parade, which has been the club’s home for much of its history. The stadium is situated in the heart of Bradford and remains an important part of the club’s sporting and community identity. Bradford City has competed across the English football pyramid and has experienced periods in the Premier League and the Football League Championship. One of the most significant moments in the club’s history came in 1911, when Bradford City won the FA Cup, defeating Newcastle United in the final replay. The club has also produced and developed numerous players throughout its history and maintains a modern academy structure focused on youth development and progression into senior football. Bradford City’s academy provides pathways for young players across different age groups and continues to recruit specialist coaching staff as part of its player-development programme. Beyond first-team football, the club places considerable emphasis on supporter engagement and community involvement. Bradford City works with supporters through structured consultation, supporter liaison and engagement programmes, while its wider community activities connect the club with schools, young people, charities and local organisations. The club has received recognition for its approach to fan engagement, ranking among the top professional clubs in England in the Think Fan Engagement Index. Commercially, Bradford City operates partnerships with businesses across the region, including matchday sponsorships, hospitality and its Business Club. The club’s activities therefore extend beyond football to include community programmes, commercial partnerships, stadium events and supporter services. With its long-standing history, large regional supporter base and strong connection to Bradford, the Bantams remain an important sporting institution in West Yorkshire. Today, Bradford City AFC combines professional football, academy development, community engagement, commercial activities and supporter-focused initiatives while continuing to build on its historic identity and traditions.
