AIK Fotboll is the football section of Allmänna Idrottsklubben (AIK), one of Sweden’s most historic and successful football organisations. The club was founded in 1891, while its football section was established in 1896. Based in the Stockholm area, AIK operates men's and women's senior football as well as extensive youth and academy programmes. The men's team competes in Allsvenskan, Sweden's highest division, while the women's team also competes at the highest national level. AIK has won 12 Swedish men's championships and eight Svenska Cupen titles. The club plays its men's home matches at Strawberry Arena in Solna and has a large, long-standing supporter base. AIK Fotboll AB conducts the elite football operations, while AIK Fotbollsförening remains the principal shareholder and operates the youth structure. The club has approximately 1,000 active players and 265 leaders across its football activities, with 72 junior and youth teams. AIK places strong emphasis on player development, academy football, scouting, coaching education and creating pathways from youth football to senior competition. Its community work includes initiatives focused on inclusion, youth development, education, employment and social participation. AIK also operates extensive digital, commercial and supporter-engagement activities through its website, AIK+, social-media channels, ticketing and merchandise operations. The club's traditional black-and-yellow colours and long history have made it one of Sweden's most recognisable football brands. AIK continues to combine professional elite football with youth development, community engagement and commercial operations while maintaining its strong connection to Stockholm and its supporters.
