ADO Den Haag is a professional football club based in The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands. The club was originally founded in 1905 under the name ADO, an abbreviation of “Alles Door Oefening,” meaning “Everything Through Practice.” It developed into one of the historically established football clubs in Dutch football and has maintained a strong connection with the city of The Hague and the surrounding region. In 1971, ADO merged with city rivals Holland Sport, creating FC Den Haag. The club adopted the name ADO Den Haag in 1996 following the merger of FC Den Haag with ADO’s amateur department, while the professional organisation was converted into a limited liability company in 1999. ADO Den Haag has achieved significant domestic success during its history, including two Dutch national championships in the 1941/42 and 1942/43 seasons and two Dutch FA Cup victories in 1967/68 and 1974/75. The club has also participated in European competition, including the European Cup Winners’ Cup. Since 2007, ADO Den Haag has played its home matches at its modern stadium in The Hague, currently known as the WerkTalent Stadion. The club operates professional men's football alongside extensive youth-development and community activities. Its youth-development structure is supported through the ADO Den Haag Academy, which focuses on developing young players and identifying future talent. The club also organises football-development programmes, talent days, football camps and a football school for younger players. Beyond competitive football, ADO Den Haag places considerable emphasis on regional and social engagement, working with supporters, young people, schools and community organisations.
