About The Role

JOB TITLE:   Part Time Classroom Teacher/Minibus Driver

RESPONSIBLE TO:   Head of Education & Welfare

Hours of Work: Tuesday and Friday only. 4 hours per day  10:30am – 2:30pm

INDIRECT REPORTS:   Academy Players  (12 -16 years) during contact classroom time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide classroom support through computer-based learning, offering subject expertise in Math’s, English and Information Technology, along with broad GCSE subject knowledge for young people aged 12–16.
  • Support the Head of Education & Welfare in delivering educational support and development for young people aged 12–16 who attend the academy’s hybrid education model.
  • Oversee the academic progress and development of young people aged 12–16 who attend the academy’s hybrid training model.
  • Provide regular feedback on progress and target achievement to students, schools, and parents through the academy’s electronic diary/reporting system.
  • Attend relevant education and academy meetings as directed by the Head of Education & Welfare.
  • Complete 10 hours of relevant CPD or industry updating.
  • Maintain a current DBS check and comply with all safeguarding regulations and protocols.
  • When required, drive the academy minibus to transport young people aged 12–16 between the Riverside Stadium in Middlesbrough and the training ground in Hurworth, including return journeys where necessary.

About The Candidate

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • The post holder must have strong teaching experience, particularly in Mathematics and/or English.
  • The post holder must hold a valid first aid certificate or work towards this.
  • Hold a clean driving licence, including D2 entitlement, or hold a minibus licence.
  • This role is subject to completion of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
