The Department

The Finance Department plays a pivotal role at the Club in supporting our long-term ambitions both on and off the pitch. Operating at the heart of a fast-paced, high-performance environment, it is the engine that keeps our Club stable and able to compete sustainably.  The team provides the insight and control that underpin our decisions – from managing budgets and cash flow to overseeing player transfers and regulatory reporting.

The Role

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join the team, who will be responsible for supporting the accurate and timely delivery of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, journals and financial analysis.

You will work closely with the Senior Management Accountant collaborating with our Finance Business Partners and relevant internal stakeholders – helping to explain our financial performance, highlighting risks and opportunities and ensuring financial systems and controls run smoothly – directly supporting planning, decision-making and long-term success of the Club.
 

The Person

You will need to be a qualified accountant or finalist holding CIMA or ACCA (or equivalent) with proven experience of working in a finance or management accounting environment, preferably within sports, entertainment or leisure. You will need a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Workday or comparable finance systems.

You will need to be able to deliver month-end accounting processes, journals and balance sheet reconciliations with strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and be comfortable working with sensitive and confidential information with discretion. You will be inquisitive and keen to contribute as the Finance team continue to develop at pace as the Club continues to grow.

You will need to have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to explain financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

You will need to have a UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle and the ability to travel between our Club sites.
