Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join Radcliffe FC’s media team as the Lead Commentator. This role is voluntary, however appropriate travel expenses will be provided on a regular basis.

The successful candidate should be passionate about football commentary and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for leading and delivering engaging commentary at every Radcliffe first-team fixtures, as well as assisting with other media duties that are relevant to the role.

Synergising closely with the Head of Media, our other Media Officers, as well as the rest of our talented team, this individual will attend every home and away fixture and he/she should be able to travel to the Neuven Stadium independently, away travel is provided for most games but select fixtures may require the individual to make their own way there, the best course of action will be discussed internally prior to each matchday.

Key Responsibilities

This role may include, but aren’t limited to, the following accountabilities:

• Lead the club’s matchday commentary across all home and away fixtures, providing engaging, accurate and professional live coverage for supporters.

• Research opposition teams, players, managers and relevant statistics ahead of fixtures to ensure commentary is informed and insightful.

• Develop a strong knowledge of the club’s playing squad, coaching staff, history and wider football community.

• Work closely with the club’s media, communications and matchday teams to ensure smooth delivery of commentary and matchday content.

• Conduct pre-match, half-time and post-match interviews with players, managers, coaches and relevant guests.

• Contribute to the club’s wider media output, including match previews, reports, interviews and social media content.

• Keep up to date with team news, injuries, suspensions, competition developments and other information relevant to match coverage.

• Be reliable and well prepared, attending fixtures punctually and ensuring all necessary equipment and technical requirements are in place.
