Overview of the Role:
The Trustees of the Foundation are responsible collectively and individually for discharging the legal obligations for the governance of the Foundation. Our Trustees play a vital role in making sure that the Foundation achieves the purpose, vision and mission consistent with the values set out in Our Town Strategy.
The Board has the responsibility of setting the strategic direction, ensuring strong governance and holding management to account. Additionally, as a Trustee you will also ensure that the Foundation has a strong relationship with HTAFC as well as the communities of Kirklees.
The Board includes a mix of independent Trustees appointed through open recruitment, alongside senior representatives of the Club. You would join a supportive and collaborative Board, working closely with fellow Trustees and staff to help shape the future of the Foundation.
We recognise that effective Trustees come from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and communities. Whilst previous Trustee or Board experience can be valuable, it is not essential. We are particularly keen to hear from people who can bring fresh perspectives, lived experience, professional expertise and a commitment to our values.
We are committed to building a Board that reflects the diverse communities we serve across Kirklees. We particularly welcome applications from people who are currently under-represented on our Board, including younger adults, disabled people, LGBTQIA+ people and people from Black, Asian and other ethnically diverse communities.
If you share our vision of creating opportunities, reducing inequalities and inspiring lasting change, and believe you can make a positive contribution to the Foundation, we encourage you to apply. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and look forward to hearing from you.
