About The Role
Summary of Vacancy
Working within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) the successful applicant will nurture, develop, and transition elite goalkeeping talent into the First Team pathway.
Key responsibilities:
• Lead the strategic planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Academy Goalkeeping Programme.
• Manage all Academy goalkeeping coaching staff, ensuring alignment in coaching methodologies across all phases.
• Ensure every goalkeeper receives an outstanding development experience while creating a sustainable pathway of goalkeepers.
• Contribute to MDT processes to support holistic player development.
• Maintain positive working relationships with players, staff, and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure all coaching sessions, player reviews, and individual development plans are accurately documented in accordance with EPPP requirements using the Club's software (e.g., PMA, Kitman Labs, and Hudl).
Other requirements:
• Positively represent the culture and values of the Academy in every interaction.
• Maintain professional boundaries at all times, adhere strictly to operational policies
• Undertake any other reasonable duties, as requested by your Line Manager.
• Work within and adhere to all Academy policies and procedures, maintaining a strong understanding of Bradford City AFC's culture and values.
About The Candidate
About you
- You are a dedicated, energetic, and forward-thinking goalkeeper coach with a proven track record of developing young players within an elite academy setting.
- You possess strong leadership abilities and take pride in setting high standards of coaching, discipline, and professional conduct.
- You understand the holistic needs of young athletes, balancing technical/tactical excellence with emotional and mental wellbeing.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment, working effectively alongside Coaches, Sports Scientists, Analysts, and Medical staff.
- You are highly organised and comfortable utilising modern football management and analysis software (such as PMA / Kitman Labs and Hudl).
- You are committed to your own continuous professional development.
Essential qualifications
• UEFA Goalkeeping B Diploma (or evidence of enrolment/anticipated completion date).
• FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.
• Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF).
• Satisfactory Disclosure from an Enhanced DBS Check with Children’s Barred List clearance (This will need to be completed prior to appointment).
Desirable qualifications
• UEFA Goalkeeping A Diploma (or evidence of enrolment/anticipated completion date).
• FA Advanced Youth Award (Goalkeeping Pathway).
• UEFA B Diploma (beneficial for integrating goalkeepers into team tactical sessions).
• Experience in coaching goalkeepers in a professional football academy environment across multiple EPPP phases (FP, YDP, PDP).
• Experience in using academy management software (e.g., PMA, Kitman Labs, Hudl).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
