Newcastle United Women are seeking an Academy Education Lead to play a vital role in supporting the academic, personal and holistic development of our Academy players.
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Women's Academy and help create an environment where players can thrive both on and off the pitch. Working closely with schools, colleges, universities, parents and academy staff, you will ensure players are supported throughout their educational journey while balancing the demands of elite football.
What you’ll do
* Act as the key point of contact between the Academy and education providers, including schools, colleges and universities.
* Monitor player attendance, academic progress and behaviour.
* Support players in balancing their football commitments alongside their educational responsibilities.
* Maintain accurate education records and ensure compliance with academy and governing body requirements.
* Coordinate and deliver personal development and life skills programmes covering areas such as mental health, financial and career planning
* Support players through key educational transitions, including progression to Further and Higher Education.
* Provide guidance to players and parents around education pathways, dual careers and future opportunities beyond football.
* Work collaboratively with coaching, safeguarding and welfare colleagues to provide holistic support for every player.
About You
We're looking for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their full potential.
Essential requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status (QTLS).
* Experience working within education and/or youth development.
* Strong knowledge of the UK education system, including Key Stages 3-5, A-Levels, vocational pathways and university routes.
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
* Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail.
* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child welfare practices.
