About the role

We are seeking an Academy Analyst to support the development of young players by providing clear, useful performance analysis to coaches and the wider academy staff. The successful candidate will help review training sessions and matches, identify key trends, and present findings in a practical way that supports player and team development.

Key responsibilities

• Record and analyse academy matches and training sessions.
• Prepare video clips and performance reports for coaches and players.
• Identify tactical, technical and physical trends in team and individual performances.
• Support opposition analysis and pre-match preparation where required.
• Work with coaches to agree analysis priorities and present findings clearly.
• Maintain organised video and analysis databases.
• Help players understand feedback and apply it to their development.
• Contribute to the academy’s wider performance and player-development programme.

Requirements

• Experience in football performance analysis, ideally within an academy or development environment.
• Good understanding of football tactics and player development.
• Confidence using video analysis and performance-analysis software.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaches and other academy staff.
• A relevant degree, qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends around the football schedule.
