Selmen Sassi, an Unlimited Member of  Jobs4football, is embarking on an exciting new chapter in his career. After previously working in Austria and Saudi Arabia, he is transitioning from his role as  Coach within Portsmouth's academy to a global development position with FIFA, the international governing body of football.

In his new role, Selmen will be working within FIFA's High Performance Department as part of the Talent Development Scheme. His responsibilities will be diverse and impactful, focusing on various aspects of football development worldwide.

One of Selmen's key tasks will be contributing to the development and activation of the MA Masterclass. This initiative aims to establish a pathway into professional football, utilising a holistic 360-degree approach towards player and personal development. This comprehensive strategy will ensure that young talents receive well-rounded support as they progress in their careers.

As a Technical Consultant, Selmen will work closely with Senior national teams. He will deliver coaching sessions to enhance their preparation for international competitions and leverage his knowledge of modern coaching trends to implement cutting-edge strategies. This role will allow him to directly influence the performance of national teams on the global stage.

A significant part of Selmen's responsibilities will involve growing national academy and player pathway structures. He will oversee the development of talent groups from the Foundation Phase through to the Professional Phase, ensuring a seamless progression for young players. This work will be crucial in establishing strong foundations for football development in various countries.

Selmen will also play a lead role in coaching and developing national youth team players. He will contribute to their preparation for international tournaments by devising and delivering comprehensive training and development programmes. This hands-on approach will allow him to directly impact the next generation of football stars.

In the realm of coach education, he will be involved in delivering FIFA and CAS educational programmes. He will design and develop coaching workshops for youth and senior team national coaches, aiming to enhance their skillsets and knowledge. This educational aspect of his role will have a ripple effect, improving coaching standards across multiple levels.

As part of his leadership responsibilities, Selmen will recruit and lead a multidisciplinary team. This team will include a Coordinator, Specialist Coaches, Nutritionist, Strength & Conditioning Coach, and administrative staff. Managing this diverse group of professionals will be key to implementing comprehensive development programmes.

A particular focus of Selmen's work will be elevating the standard of coaching and player development frameworks in Africa. This regional emphasis highlights FIFA's commitment to developing football across all continents and providing opportunities for growth in areas with immense potential.

Speaking about this new opportunity, Selmen expressed his enthusiasm:
