Jobs4football Unlimited Member Dave Rogers Takes the Helm, Joined by Assistant Daryl Willard.
Balzan FC have announced the appointment of Jobs4football unlimited member Dave Rogers as the club's new Head Coach. Rogers has signed a two-year contract and brings with him a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success. Joining Rogers as his assistant will be Daryl Willard, also a member of the Jobs4football community.
Club President Anton Tagliaferro shared his enthusiasm for the new appointment: "We are excited to announce Dave Rogers as our new full-time Head Coach. Dave will bring leadership and high standards to the role whilst also delivering energy and enthusiasm and creating a very positive environment. "Rogers' impressive career spans across India, USA, and Ireland, showcasing his expertise in coaching and managing teams. He has consistently demonstrated a knack for developing elite players, evident in his previous roles as Liverpool FC International Academy Manager and Head Coach of Nottingham Forest FC Under 21s.
Tagliaferro further emphasised the club's commitment to Rogers' vision: "We look forward to Dave's arrival and to fully supporting him in his journey as he embarks to take Balzan FC First Team and our Academy to the levels and professionalism we aim to achieve."
For Rogers, this new role presents an exciting opportunity: "I am very proud and honoured to be joining Balzan FC and really looking forward to progressing the club both on and off the pitch and supporting the Players and the Staff and community in striving to achieve its objectives. "He expressed his admiration for the club's facilities and shared his alignment with the club's vision: "Our vision and principles are aligned with each other, and the club's desire and ambition to lift the standards of both the first team and the Academy is a challenge we aim to embrace and enjoy."
Rogers plans to leverage his extensive experience to shape the club's future: "My objective is to apply and implement a style of play and identity throughout the club, whilst also honing in on the many years of experience I gained as a professional player and also the knowledge and skills I have acquired and learned as a coach from the past 12 years under some world-class managers at some outstanding and successful football clubs both in the Premier League and globally.
I can’t wait to start working with the players and the staff and look forward to a successful and productive new era with everyone at the club."
Balzan new coach Rogers welcomed Willard’s appointment.
“I am delighted that Daryl has agreed to join us at Balzan FC,” Rogers said.
“Daryl and I have known each other for many years and participated together in many FIFA and UEFA events so I know first hand the quality of coach I am bringing to the club. Also Daryl is a fantastic person whose values and principles align with mine.”
On his part, club president Anton Tagliaferro expressed his excitement after managing to lure to the club a top coach like Willard.
“These are exciting times at Balzan FC as we embark on a new chapter and professional development approach,” Tagliaferro said.
“I am very excited to have another UEFA Pro License coach in Daryl together with Dave working here at Balzan FC. I have no doubts Dave and Daryl will thrive on improving and developing the players, coaches and teams at the club.
“Both Dave and Daryl have had many years experience working as Academy Managers and Head Coaches at elite clubs around the world, including Liverpool FC and Chelsea and I am sure they will do a great job at the club.”
