    About Us

Wadi Degla Sporting Club is an Egyptian multi-sport club based in Cairo, best known internationally for its football and women's football programmes. The club was founded in 2002 and is part of the wider Wadi Degla sports-club group. Wadi Degla Clubs states that the group's sporting-club legacy began in 2002 and that it has developed a large network of private sports and leisure clubs in Egypt. The football section developed rapidly after the club's establishment. Wadi Degla reached the Egyptian Premier League for the first time in the 2009–10 season, marking a major milestone in the relatively young club's history. The club has subsequently competed at both the top level and in Egypt's second-tier competitions. In the 2024–25 season, Wadi Degla finished second in Egypt's Second Division A and secured promotion back to the Egyptian Premier League. The club's women's football programme has been particularly successful. Wadi Degla Women have established themselves as one of the dominant forces in Egyptian women's football and have won the Egyptian Women's Premier League numerous times. The women's team has also represented Egypt in African women's club competitions, contributing to the club's wider reputation for developing female sporting talent. Wadi Degla is not limited to football. The wider club organisation provides facilities and programmes covering numerous sports and recreational activities, with football, swimming, tennis and squash among its principal sporting academies. Wadi Degla Clubs describes its facilities as a family-oriented sports and leisure environment designed to provide members with opportunities to participate in national and international sporting competitions. The organisation has expanded considerably since its foundation. Wadi Degla Clubs currently operates multiple clubs across Egypt and reports a membership base exceeding 160,000 families and 750,000 individuals. Its broader sports-club operation is headquartered in Cairo and is managed as a privately held spectator-sports organisation. Wadi Degla's sporting activities therefore combine professional football with grassroots participation, youth development, elite sports training and community-oriented recreational programmes. The club's identity is closely associated with its “Community of Champions” positioning and with the development of athletes across multiple sporting disciplines. Its principal football operations are based in Cairo, while the wider Wadi Degla Clubs network has expanded throughout Egypt.
