União Sport Clube de Paredes, commonly known as USC Paredes, is a historic Portuguese sports club based in Paredes, in the Porto District. Founded on 13 December 1924, the club has more than a century of sporting history and is closely connected with the local community. Its roots were established through the desire of local sports enthusiasts to create an organisation capable of representing Paredes through sport, and over the decades the club developed into one of the recognised sporting institutions of the Vale do Sousa region. The club's sporting activity extends beyond football. According to the Municipality of Paredes, USC Paredes has approximately 650 athletes participating across several sports, including football, futsal, roller hockey, basketball, karate, dance, chess, volleyball, boccia and walking football. The organisation therefore combines competitive sport with a broader community and athlete-development mission. Football remains the club's principal sporting identity. USC Paredes has developed through Portugal's football pyramid and has competed in national competitions, including Liga 3. The club achieved promotion to Liga 3 after finishing third in the 2024–25 Campeonato de Portugal, and its 2025–26 campaign resulted in an unprecedented consecutive stay at that level. The Portuguese Football Federation has recognised the club's participation in Liga 3 and its sporting conduct, including a Bronze “Puro Futebol” award for the 2025–26 season based on fair play, respect and positive behaviour. Youth development is another important part of USC Paredes' identity. The club has been officially recognised as a certified training organisation by the Portuguese Football Federation, receiving a four-star certification in 2022. Its stated mission is to develop athletes with the sporting, academic, social and personal competencies required to progress into senior teams and become responsible and active members of society. In 2026, the club also entered a new organisational phase after members approved the creation of a Sociedade Anónima Desportiva (SAD) for its professional football operation. This marked a significant structural development as the club sought to modernise its football organisation and strengthen its long-term competitive ambitions. USC Paredes plays its home matches at Estádio Municipal das Laranjeiras, while its address is Parque José Guilherme, 4580-130 Paredes. The club's official website and the Associação de Futebol do Porto both confirm Paredes as its home base.
