IF Skjold Birkerød, also known as Skjold Birkerød Fodbold, is a long-established football club based in Birkerød, in the northern part of Zealand, Denmark. The club was founded in 1917 after football activities initiated by schoolteacher Levring developed into a formally established association. Its own historical account traces the club's early development from local football in Birkerød to the creation of dedicated playing facilities and, later, periods of competition at higher levels of Danish football.  The club is headquartered and plays at Bistrupvej 1 in Birkerød, with Birkerød Stadion serving as its principal playing venue. The Danish Football Association (DBU) lists IF Skjold Birkerød in its competitions and confirms the club's address, stadium and official contact details.  Skjold Birkerød has a broad football structure covering children's football, youth football, senior men's and women's teams, recreational football and specialist activities. Its current programme includes Mini-Skjold teams from U5 level, boys' and girls' youth teams through U19, senior men's teams, a senior women's team, veterans and masters, as well as football fitness, goalkeeper training and other community-oriented activities.  Youth development is a central part of the club's identity. The club describes itself as one of the larger football clubs in North Zealand and states that it places strong emphasis on children's and youth football and creating good development environments. Its current youth structure demonstrates a pathway from introductory football through competitive boys' and girls' programmes.  Historically, Skjold has also experienced significant sporting success. Its official history records promotion to Denmark's third division in the 1940s and later participation in the fourth division, now associated with the Denmark Series. The club has therefore combined competitive senior football with a long-standing grassroots and youth-development tradition.  In 2026, Skjold Birkerød entered a new strategic cooperation with Lyngby Boldklub, with the partnership focused on strengthening children's, youth and girls' football. A central element is the planned LB Alliancen girls' academy for U16 and U19 players, based in Birkerød, intended to create stronger local development opportunities for ambitious young female players. 
