RF-SISU Småland is the regional organisation of the Swedish Sports Confederation (Riksidrottsförbundet) and SISU Idrottsutbildarna in the Småland district of Sweden. It is one of Sweden’s 19 regional RF-SISU organisations and has a dual mission covering both sports development and popular education. The organisation supports, represents, leads and coordinates the sports movement on regional and local issues, while also contributing to the development of sports through education and learning within sports clubs and specialised district sports federations. Since 1 January 2020, the two missions of sport and popular education have been brought together under the common name RF-SISU Småland. The organisation works across the three counties of Jönköping, Kronoberg and Kalmar and supports approximately 1,700 sports clubs and around 70 specialised district sports federations operating in the region. Its activities include club and federation development, leadership education, youth sport, inclusive sport, safe sport environments, advocacy and various educational programmes. RF-SISU Småland also provides support to clubs through sports consultants who work directly with local organisations to help them develop their activities, governance and educational practices. The organisation has its headquarters in Jönköping, with additional offices and activities throughout Småland. Its official contact address is S:t Göransvägen 31, Jönköping, while its postal address is Box 485, 551 16 Jönköping. RF-SISU Småland has more than 50 employees, including a district sports director, operational managers, sports consultants, administrators, economists and communications staff. Its work is aimed at strengthening the conditions for organised sport and lifelong participation, with particular emphasis on learning, leadership, inclusion, participation and sustainable development of sports clubs. The organisation also distributes certain forms of financial support to the sports movement and represents the interests of sport in regional and local policy discussions. The organisation's historical roots date to 1902, when Smålands Idrottsförbund was established; the present RF-SISU Småland structure represents the modern regional organisation created through the consolidation of its sport and popular-education functions.
