    About Us

Liverpool Football Association (Liverpool FA) is the County Football Association responsible for governing and developing grassroots football across Merseyside, England. As the governing body for the game in the county, Liverpool FA provides the structure, standards and support required for players, coaches, referees, volunteers, clubs and leagues to participate and develop at every level. Its work covers club affiliation, competitions, discipline, safeguarding, coach development, referee development, facilities, equality and inclusion, and football participation. Liverpool FA works across Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens, Halton, Warrington and West Lancashire, supporting football communities throughout the region. The organisation delivers development programmes aimed at increasing participation among women and girls, young people and under-represented communities, while also supporting clubs to become stronger and more sustainable. Liverpool FA operates county cup competitions and provides education and development opportunities for coaches, referees and volunteers. Its community-focused programmes include initiatives such as She Inspires, which promotes participation and confidence among girls in schools across Merseyside. Liverpool FA also works with The Football Association, local authorities, professional clubs, schools, community organisations and other stakeholders to strengthen grassroots football. The organisation is headquartered at Drummond Road in Crosby, Liverpool. Liverpool County Football Association Limited is incorporated as a private company limited by guarantee without share capital, while Liverpool FA functions as the county's football governing organisation. Its stated purpose is to provide a progressive and enjoyable football environment and ensure participants have opportunities to develop. Through governance, participation, education, safeguarding and community initiatives, Liverpool FA continues to support and develop the grassroots game across Merseyside.
