    About Us

Hertfordshire Football Association (Hertfordshire FA) is the governing body for grassroots football across the county of Hertfordshire, England. Founded in 1885, it is one of the oldest County Football Associations affiliated with The Football Association (The FA). Headquartered at County Ground, Letchworth Garden City, the organisation is responsible for governing, developing, promoting, and safeguarding football throughout the county. Hertfordshire FA supports hundreds of affiliated clubs, leagues, coaches, referees, volunteers, and tens of thousands of registered players participating in youth, adult, women's, girls', disability, walking, and recreational football. The association administers county cup competitions, club affiliation, coach education, referee development, safeguarding, discipline, equality, diversity, and inclusion programmes while working closely with The FA, the Football Foundation, local authorities, schools, and community organisations. Through investment in football facilities, workforce development, and participation initiatives, Hertfordshire FA aims to make football accessible, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. The organisation also manages County Ground, providing high-quality football pitches, meeting spaces, and facilities for competitions, education, and community events. In addition to its governance responsibilities, Hertfordshire FA promotes mental health awareness, volunteer recognition, youth leadership, and club development programmes that strengthen football's role within local communities. Guided by The FA's National Game Strategy, Hertfordshire FA continues to invest in sustainable growth, innovation, inclusion, and long-term football development while maintaining high standards of governance and service across grassroots football in Hertfordshire.
