Halifax Tides FC is a professional women’s soccer club based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and one of the founding clubs of Canada’s Northern Super League. The club was established in 2024 as part of the creation of Canada’s new professional women’s soccer league and became Atlantic Canada’s first professional women’s soccer club. Halifax Tides FC officially began competition in the inaugural Northern Super League season in 2025. The organisation was founded with the objective of building a sustainable professional pathway for women’s soccer in Atlantic Canada while creating opportunities for players, coaches, staff and supporters.

The club is led by co-founder and CEO Courtney Sherlock and club president Val Malone, with Ruth Fahy serving as Vice President of Football. Its sporting structure includes a professional first team, technical and performance staff, and an academy pathway designed to support the development of younger players. The club’s stated mission is to create an environment where players can flourish, supporters can find belonging and individuals can realise their potential, while its vision focuses on inspiring future generations and unlocking the potential of women’s soccer.

Halifax Tides FC plays its home matches at Wanderers Grounds in downtown Halifax. The club’s first competitive season came in 2025, when it became part of the historic launch of the Northern Super League and helped bring professional women’s soccer to Atlantic Canada for the first time. The Tides continued in the NSL for the 2026 season, their second campaign, and remain one of the league’s founding six clubs.

Beyond first-team football, Halifax Tides FC has developed partnerships with organisations including Dalhousie University, Canadian Sport Institute Atlantic and community organisations, supporting athlete performance, training and grassroots engagement. The club also operates community initiatives intended to grow participation and strengthen connections between professional football and young players throughout the region. In 2026, the Tides continued competing in the NSL while expanding their football and academy infrastructure and strengthening their position as a professional women’s sports organisation in Atlantic Canada.
