    About Us

FC Twente/Heracles Academie is the joint youth academy of Dutch professional football clubs FC Twente and Heracles Almelo. Officially launched on 1 July 2020, the academy combines the youth development systems of both Eredivisie clubs to provide a unified pathway for talented footballers across the eastern Netherlands. Headquartered in Hengelo, Overijssel, the academy is dedicated to developing players both as footballers and as individuals, placing strong emphasis on personal growth, education, responsibility, and teamwork alongside technical and tactical excellence. The academy operates teams across multiple age groups, from Under-12 through Under-21, and provides a structured development pathway that prepares players for professional football with either FC Twente or Heracles Almelo. Training programmes are supported by specialist departments in coaching, physical performance, sports science, medical care, video analysis, education, psychology, and player welfare. Beyond elite player development, the academy works closely with amateur clubs throughout the region through its Regioplan initiative, delivering coach education, knowledge-sharing events, talent identification programmes, and grassroots football support. The academy also offers host-family programmes and educational guidance to ensure young players receive holistic support throughout their development. Its long-term objective is to produce technically skilled, mentally resilient, and socially responsible footballers capable of progressing to professional football while contributing positively to society. By combining the expertise, resources, and traditions of FC Twente and Heracles Almelo, the academy has established itself as one of the Netherlands' leading youth development organisations, committed to sustainable talent development and regional football excellence.
