FC Paços de Ferreira is a Portuguese football club based in Paços de Ferreira, in the district of Porto. The club's official history records 5 April 1950 as its formal foundation date, when it was established as Futebol Clube Vasco da Gama; it adopted the name FC Paços de Ferreira at the beginning of the 1961/62 season. The club developed from regional football into the national competitions during the 1970s and won its first national title, the Portuguese Third Division, in 1974. During the 1990s, Paços de Ferreira achieved promotion to Portugal's top division, later returning to the highest level in 1999/2000 after winning the national second-tier championship. The club subsequently established itself as a regular participant in Portuguese professional football. Its achievements include reaching the Taça da Liga final in 2010/11, finishing sixth in the 2006/07 top-flight season and qualifying for European competition, and recording a fifth-place Primeira Liga finish in 2020/21, which brought another UEFA qualification. The club's European history includes participation in the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League, including a notable 1–0 home victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the 2021/22 Conference League qualifying campaign. The club is traditionally associated with its yellow and green colours, adopted officially in 1981, and is commonly known by the nickname “Castores” (Beavers). Its home ground is the Estádio Capital do Móvel.
