A.C. ChievoVerona is an Italian football club based in Verona, Veneto, carrying forward the identity and heritage of the historic ChievoVerona football institution. The original club was founded on 6 September 1929 in the Chievo district of Verona. After the club's historic rise through the Italian football pyramid, Chievo reached Serie A for the first time in 2001 and established itself as a prominent top-flight club, recording 17 seasons in Serie A and participating in European competitions. The present organisation represents a new chapter in that history. FC Clivense, founded in 2021 by former Chievo captain Sergio Pellissier and Enzo Zanin, acquired the ChievoVerona name and trademarks in May 2024 and officially changed its name to A.C. ChievoVerona on 28 June 2024. The club describes this as the continuation and revival of a sporting and cultural heritage deeply rooted in Verona. The club currently competes in Italy's Serie D and continues to develop its sporting structure with an emphasis on returning to professional football. The 2026/27 season programme includes the senior men's team as well as extensive youth and women's football activities. Youth development is a particularly important part of the organisation's current strategy. ChievoVerona describes its youth sector as the heart of its project, with a methodology centred on player development, education, inclusion and creating a healthy environment for young athletes. Its organisational structure includes dedicated leadership for the youth sector, technical methodology, football analysis, human performance and organisational administration. The club also maintains women's football programmes, including youth teams and senior teams competing in regional and national competitions. Its 2026/27 activities include women's Eccellenza and Serie C teams as well as youth programmes for girls. A.C. ChievoVerona is headquartered in Verona, with its legal headquarters at Via Perloso 14/a and sporting operations at the Stadio Aldo Olivieri and Bottagisio Sport Center. The club's current management structure includes President Pietro Laterza, Honorary President and Club Manager Sergio Pellissier, Sporting Director Luca Matteassi and dedicated youth-development and women's-football departments. The organisation's stated modern identity is built around being inclusive, sustainable, territorial and ambitious, combining the heritage of historic Chievo with a new development-focused project aimed at rebuilding the club's sporting future.
