Women’s Team – Matchday Safety ManagerWatford FC

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Women’s Team at Watford Football Club. We are currently looking to recruit a part-time Matchday Safety Manager (15 hours a week), who will be responsible for the safe, secure, and compliant delivery of all the Women’s home fixtures, ensuring matchday operations meet WSL, FA, and local authority safety requirements.

The role requires leadership on spectator safety, stewarding, safeguarding, and emergency planning, ensuring a positive, inclusive, and well-managed matchday environment for supporters, players, staff, and officials.

The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team, be enthusiastic, hardworking, and be flexible to the requirements of the position and the business.

Applicants should ideally live local to Watford and London Colney or the surrounding areas and be a UK resident or non-UK resident with a valid UK work permit and ideally have experience working within a similar role.

You Must Have

• Event Safety Management NVQ Level 2, 3, or 4 certificate, or be working towards one. 
• Experience in event or spectator safety management. 
• A strong knowledge of crowd safety, risk assessment, and event delivery. 
• The ability to remain calm and decisive in pressured situations. 
• A willingness to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays. 
• Full UK driving licence or ability to travel to various locations due to the demands of the role. 
• Understanding of the Club's commitment to EDI & Safeguarding. 

You Would Ideally Have (But Not Essential)

• Experience working within football or sporting venues. 
• Knowledge of FA Ground Regulations and WSL competition requirements. 
• Experience liaising with local authorities and emergency services.
