Description
Morecambe Football Club is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join the club’s first-team medical department as Volunteer Sports Massage Therapists / Sports Therapy Assistants ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The voluntary roles offer an excellent opportunity for students and aspiring practitioners looking to gain valuable experience within a professional football environment while working alongside the club’s medical staff.
Successful applicants will become part of the first-team set-up, supporting players at both daily training sessions at the University of Lancashire Sports Arena in Preston and on home matchdays at the Halo Aerospace Stadium.
Volunteers will receive mentorship from Lead Sports Therapist Peter Bailey, providing hands-on experience in elite sport and the opportunity to further develop their practical skills in a professional setting. Upon completion of the placement, volunteers will also receive a professional reference.
Who We’re Looking For
- Studying towards a degree in Sports Therapy, Physiotherapy, Sports Rehabilitation or a related discipline, or already qualified.
- Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 Sports Massage (or currently working towards it).
- In possession of their own professional insurance.
- Professional, reliable and committed.
- Able to travel to both training sessions in Preston and home fixtures in Morecambe.
- Strong communicators who work well within a multidisciplinary team.
