Founded in 1882, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is an English Premier League Club, based in North London.
Led by the late great Bill Nicholson, the Club became the first in England to win the League and FA Cup Double in 1961, and the first in the UK to win a European Trophy two years later. Spurs has since been home to some of the game’s great entertainers, including Jimmy Greaves, Glenn Hoddle, Paul Gascoigne, David Ginola, Gareth Bale, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.
In April 2019, the Club opened an iconic new stadium that sits at the heart of a £1billion sport-led regeneration of North Tottenham. The stadium is the largest football club stadium in London and is a multi-use venue with the ability to host a variety of events 365 days a year, including NFL, boxing, rugby, concerts, and other major events, plus visitor attractions including Stadium Tours and the Dare Skywalk.
The stadium development scheme has to date created more than 4,000 new jobs for local people, with circa £300m pumped into the local economy each year.

JOB PURPOSE
To deliver the Academy Coaching Curriculum within the Youth Development Phase.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Under 16s Head Coach
- Devise and deliver sessions to the U16’s in the Youth Development Phase within the Academy Curriculum/Syllabus
- Provide on an individual basis the support for all players to ensure they gain the appropriate challenge during their U16 season
- Responsible for match day preparation and performance with the U16’s
- Participate in the selection of squads and travel on foreign tours as required, providing pastoral care that adheres to Academy guidelines/policies
- Conduct and compile Individual Learning Plans for players in the U16’s in line with the Premier League rules (Every six weeks)
- Conduct mid-season and end of season Player/Parent meetings
- Establish relationships with players and parents of allocated age group in line with Academy Policies, and manage age group specific communication via Club issued devices
- Work closely with Academy Medical, Sports Science, Analysis, Education, Player Care/Safeguarding, Operations and Kit staff regarding the players’ holistic programme and needs
- Liaise with Academy Recruitment team regarding potential trialist/signings
- Embody the Academy Philosophy and apply to all aspects of interactions with Academy Stakeholders (players, parents & colleagues)
- Maintain mandatory CPD record, including Club issue DBS check (every three years), UEFA Licence (15 hours of the appropriate level CPD every three years), FA Advanced Youth Award, FA Safeguarding Children Workshop (every three years), relevant FA Emergency First Aid qualification as per Premier League rules (currently EFAiF – every three years)
- Ensure the U16’s KitMan data entry (both for training sessions and matches) is accurate and up-to-date to support the players development journey
- Work in relation with U18 Head coach to provide updates on U16 players
- Provide appropriate opportunity for U16’s to gain experience of following a youth team programme
- Plan with U18 Head Coach squad selection for U17 fixtures
- Lead parent/player meetings regarding scholarship decisions and update on progress in line with the decision making process
- Provide the appropriate aftercare and support with players to ensure they have the required opportunities post scholarship decision in liaison with player care department
- Provide player bios and supporting video using a multi-disciplinary approach to show continued support in ensuring released players gain opportunity to continue within academy football where appropriate
- Liaise with the Head of Coach Development to support individual needs around self-development
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Youth Development Phase Lead
- Plan and deliver a world leading training and games programme from U13-16 in line with the EPPP ensuring a multi-disciplinary approach to learning
- Co-ordinate and lead on the FTTM programme to ensure the players receive outstanding support towards their individual development
- Manage both full time and part time staff within the phase
- Organise staffing across the age groups for both training and match days within the Youth Development Phase and FTTM programme
- Lead weekly multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss programme, players, teams and any other priorities
- Support in matchday squads’ selection and distribute to academy staff prior to the weekend fixtures
- Plan and deliver Parent/Player workshops across the season
- Support age group staff on parent/player meetings where appropriate
- Liaise with the recruitment team to identify and plan trialist dates and programme
- Support the recruitment team with Academy In Service events
- Ensure all Individual Learning Plans are attached to each player within the Youth Development Phase
- Work with the Head of Coach Development to support coaching staff with academy methodology
- Update Head of Coach Development and Academy Director of notices on a weekly basis
