About the Role

We are hiring a dedicated Set-Piece Coach to lead the club’s tactical planning and on-pitch execution of all set-piece situations. This is a key First Team role, responsible for maximising both attacking and defensive efficiency from dead-ball phases, in line with our overall game model and weekly tactical plans.

The successful candidate will bring a data-informed and tactically creative approach to set-piece situations, collaborating closely with the Head Coach, Performance Analysts, and wider technical staff to deliver measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

Ownership of Set-Piece Strategy:
Take full responsibility for the planning, delivery, and review of all set-piece situations including:

Attacking and defensive corners

Direct and indirect free-kicks

Throw-ins (including routines and positioning)

Penalties and kick-off strategies

Weekly Match Preparation:
Analyse opposition set-piece setups using video and data

Adapt the team’s approach based on the strengths, weaknesses, and patterns of the opponent

Create detailed plans for both first and second-phase actions

Tactical Design and Delivery:

Develop creative and well-structured routines, integrating movement patterns, disguise, and delivery strategies

Lead set-piece segments in training, ensuring clarity and consistency

Ensure alignment with the Head Coach’s tactical principles and broader team strategy

Collaboration with Analysis & Data Teams:

Use video analysis tools (Hudl, Wyscout) and collaborate with the analytics department to spot trends, evaluate effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement

Leverage statistical insights to support decision-making and post-match review

Innovation and Variation:

Keep routines fresh, dynamic, and unpredictable

Introduce elements of variation and disguise to outwit opponents and reduce predictability

Candidate Profile

We’re seeking a tactically sharp and detail-oriented coach with a proven track record of improving set-piece performance. You should be capable of teaching effectively on the pitch, thinking creatively, and working as part of an elite-level technical staff.

Essential Requirements:

Prior experience as a dedicated set-piece coach, or significant set-piece responsibility in a First Team assistant coaching role

Demonstrated impact on key metrics such as set-piece goals scored, goals conceded, or routine success rates

Ability to design and deliver high-level tactical sessions that influence match outcomes

Proficiency in video analysis tools, particularly Hudl

Fluent in English (essential); French is a plus (to support internal coaching communication)

Desirable Attributes:

Previous experience in top-tier football (Top 5 leagues, national teams, continental club competitions)

Strong communicator able to translate complex concepts into simple instructions for players

Curious mindset with an interest in innovation, analytics, and marginal gains

Experience working within a multicultural team environment
