Wexford FC is seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking Schools & Community Football Development Officer to join our football development team and contribute to increasing football participation and physical activity across County Wexford. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to develop their experience as a Head of Athletic Development within Wexford FC, while contributing to a wider football development programme across the county.

 

The role provides the opportunity to work across schools, girls’ participation, community football and the Wexford FC Academy, combining football coaching with physical literacy, fundamental movement skills, player development and athletic development.

 

Schools & Physical Literacy

• Deliver football coaching within primary schools across County Wexford.

• Embed physical literacy and fundamental movement skills within delivery.

• Support teachers, Active Schools activity and school festivals.

• Strengthen links between schools, community football and the club.

Girls’ Participation

• Support primary and post-primary girls’ football initiatives.

• Contribute to girls-only opportunities, retention and transition.

• Support positive pathways into club football and wider participation.

Community Football

• Support inclusive participation, holiday programmes and community events.

• Contribute to volunteer development and targeted local initiatives.

• Build positive relationships with schools, clubs and community partners.

Head of Athletic Development – Wexford FC

• Lead and deliver Academy coaching within the Wexford FC player development programme.

• Work alongside Academy coaches to support long-term player development.

• Where appropriate to your expertise, contribute to physical literacy, movement, fitness, physical preparation and athletic development through coaching.
