Job Details
Job Title: Under 18’s Lead Performance Analyst
Location: The Valley / Sparrows Lane Training Ground
Salary: £28,000 - £30,070 (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full time / matchdays inclusive
We are looking for a permeant men’s first team Under 18’s Lead Performance Analyst to join our team and play an important role in supporting the club’s continued growth and success.
Working within a fast-paced professional football environment, you will contribute to delivering high standards across the club while helping create an environment where players, staff and supporters can thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
To lead and manage the performance analysis provision for the U18 squad within the Professional Development Phase (PDP).
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality video and data insights to maximise player development, inform the coaching process, and support the club’s strategic vision of transitioning academy players into the first-team environment.
This role will involve working collaboratively with colleagues across the club in a dynamic sporting environment where flexibility, teamwork and professionalism are essential.

Job Description
Match Day & Live Analysis
- Capture & Filming: Oversee the high-definition filming of all U18’s home and away matches, as well as all training sessions, utilising video cameras and drones
- Live Coding: Conduct live coding of match events ustilising Hudl Sportscode to provide real-time statistical and video feedback to the coaching staff
- Half Time Support: Prepare video clips and statistical insights to share with the coaching staff and players during half-time to assist tactical adjustments
Post-Match Team Analyst
- Labelling: Complete detailed post-match labelling of team and individual events linked to the clubs principles of play, Individual Development Plans (IDP’s) and performance metrics
- Review Sessions: Collaborate with the coaching staff to design and deliver age-approriate, enaging post-match review sessions linked to the match key performance indicators (KPI’s)
- Best Practice Libraries: Build and maintain a digitial “Best Practice” video library, highlighting team tactical concepts both in and out of possession
- Best Practice Presentations: Liase with the coaching staff to prepare and deliver best practice presentations prior to training sessions
Individual Development (IDP) & Player Education
- Individual Playlists: Prepare and manage individual player IDP video playlists on Hudl
- 1-to1 Mentorship: Conduct 1-to-1 video review sessions with U18’s scholars, nurturing self-reflection and ownership on their development
- Individual Player IDP’s: Prepare, organise and manage individual player IDP’s documents throught the duration of the season
- Data Collection: Collect and track team and individual performance databases to track progression across cycles, identify strengths and areas for improvement
Opposition Analysis
- Scouting & Profiling: Analyse video footage of upcoming opponents to identify tactical patterns, strengths and weaknesses to produce a comprehensive scouting reports to guide tactical planning
- Pre-Match Presentations: Produce and deliver pre-match presenations to the players utilising Hudl Studio for telestrations and keynote magic move for tactical patterns
Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) & Administration
- MDT Integration: Attend weekly MDT meetings alongside the Coaching, Physical Performance, Medical, Education and Management staff, providing a holistic approach to player development
- Department Collaboration: Assist senior academy analyst with ad-hoc filming or projects across the Youth Development and Foundation Phases as well as help to mentor university placement students/interns assigned to the department
Essential Experience / Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, or related fields from a recognised University
- Master’s degree in Performance Analysis from a recognised University
- Up-to-date Safeguarding Children certification
- Valid and Enhanced FA DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) Check (Club to undertake this)
- Minimum 1-2 years working as an analyst in an elite sports environment
- Extensive experience filming and operating camera equipment
- Advanced competency in Hudl/Sportscode
- High proficiency in video editing tools (iMovie/DaVinci Resolve)
- Strong IT literacy (MS Excel, PP, Mac OS, Keynote, Numbers)
- Experience with data visualisation (Excel, Looker Studio, Tableau)
- Exceptional communiation skills tailored for young players
- Ability to work under a high pressure environment with tight deadlines
- Flexibility to work weekends, evening, and bank holidays
- Right to Work in the UK
