Operated by South London Girls Football Academy and NXT Level Sports and Education

Location: Coles Leisure Centre
Day/Time: Sundays, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
League Games: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Role Type: Part-time / Sunday delivery role

About the Role

South London Girls Football League is looking for a confident, organised and proactive League Manager to lead the smooth running of our Sunday girls’ football league at Coles Leisure Centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with football experience, light managerial experience, or a strong desire to step into a leadership role within the grassroots football environment. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people, can stay calm under pressure, and is confident making quick decisions to keep a busy game day running efficiently.

As League Manager, you will be the key person on site each week, responsible for ensuring the league is set up, delivered and packed down to a high standard. You will help create a positive, organised and enjoyable environment where players, parents, referees and staff know exactly where they need to be and what is happening throughout the morning.

Key Responsibilities

Game Day Operations

You will oversee the full Sunday league delivery from arrival to pack down, including:

- Arriving on site at 10:00 a.m. to prepare the facility.
- Setting up pitches, goals, footballs, equipment and sponsor banners.
- Ensuring everything is ready before the first players arrive at 10:45 a.m.
- Making sure fixtures start promptly at 11:00 a.m. and finish by 12:00 p.m.
- Managing smooth transitions, water breaks and quick turnarounds between games to maximise playing time.
- Ensuring all players know their team, pitch, opposition and schedule.
- Packing down all equipment and returning it safely at the end of the session.
- Staff and Fixture Management

You will lead the team on site and ensure everyone understands their role, including:

- Managing referees for the Under-8s league.
- Managing game managers for the Under-7s league.
- Ensuring referees and game managers are in the right place at the right time.
- Delegating support tasks for setup, pack down and matchday delivery.
- Solving issues quickly and professionally as they arise.
- Safeguarding, First Aid and Player Welfare

The League Manager will act as the designated first aider and safeguarding lead on site. You will be responsible for helping maintain a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all young players.

The successful candidate will need to hold, or be willing to obtain before starting:

- A valid first aid qualification.
- Appropriate safeguarding training.
- An enhanced DBS check, where required.

League Administration

After each game day, you will ensure key league information is accurately recorded and uploaded, including:

- Match results.
- Game day notes or reports.
- Any relevant admin linked to the league drive.
- Updates relating to referees, game managers or fixtures where needed.

About You

We are looking for someone who is reliable, energetic and ready to take ownership of a brilliant grassroots football environment.

You may already have experience in football, coaching, refereeing, youth sport, school sport, operations or team leadership. You do not need to have years of management experience, but you should be confident leading people, using initiative and making things happen.

You will be a great fit for this role if you are:

- Highly organised and punctual.
- Confident communicating with players, parents, staff and referees.
- Able to lead a small team and keep people on task.
- Calm and solution-focused when things change quickly.
- Passionate about girls’ football and young people’s development.
- Comfortable setting up and packing down sports equipment.
- Able to create a positive, professional and welcoming game day atmosphere.
- Willing to take responsibility and grow as a leader.
