The Role
This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving performance, maximising our players availability and shaping our rehabilitation standards to ensure our players are reaching their maximum potential. Working as a Lead Rehabilitation Physiotherapist - you will lead the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of injured players, delivering a physiotherapy service that supports both player health and performance, alongside the long-term development objectives for the Women’s First Team. Through combining elite clinical skills with on-pitch rehabilitation methods, you will ensure players progress safely and effectively back into full training and competition.
You will support team training sessions when required whilst assisting with the development and delivery of injury prevention strategies throughout the season and collaborating with the wider multi-disciplinary team staff to modify training loads for returning players.
The Person
You will need:
- BSc in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Membership to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
- A valid pitchside trauma qualification such as FA Level 5 Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) qualification or equivalent
You will need to have demonstrable experience of working in a full time elite, professional sport environment. You will need to have experience of delivering evidence-based rehabilitation programmes from initial injury through to return to play which will include understanding of rehabilitation principles, return-to-play frameworks, and long-term athlete development and on-pitch rehabilitation. You will demonstrate excellent clinical reasoning, sound decision-making skills, ensuring every player receives individualised care to optimise their performance and minimise injury risk.
You must hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle and be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and matchdays as required by the team schedule.
