Purpose of the Role
Working closely with medical staff and players in the First Team environment, the post holder will play a key role in designing and implementing massage therapy services that promote preparatory and recovery benefits to the First Team playing squad for training and match play. The post holder will also provide pitch side emergency first aid cover for first team training activity

Key Performance Indicators
• Working as a team to prevent unnecessary injury or illness to players while still allowing players to maximise their development.
• Rehabilitation following illness and/or injury is achieved in the most efficient way possible while allowing players to return to play in a better physical state than they were previously.
Role Specific Responsibilities
The post holder is required to:
• Design and deliver physiotherapy and/or sports massage therapy programmes to enhance elite performance and support recovery from training and match play.
• Liaise with other members of the First Team Medical and Performance department regarding treatment, management and return to play of all First Team players.
• Deliver individualised assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to all First Team players as required.
• Provide first contact immediate first aid cover for the First Team playing squad training sessions.
• Be responsible for department consumables stock management.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of notes relating to players’ injuries and treatment, in accordance with professional standards requirements.
• Prepare medical support equipment for travel on home and away fixtures and attend both home and away fixtures to provide medical assistance as required.
• Assist in writing and continually updating the department’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Execute additional tasks as required to meet the changing priorities of the Club.
