Purpose of the Role
The Football Association of Wales and the JD Cymru Premier are seeking a dynamic and analytical Digital Engagement Executive to join the team. This role is integral to enhancing the league’s digital presence, engaging with its fanbase, and driving the success of the league’s digital platforms through data-driven strategies.
The Digital Engagement Executive will play a key role in supporting the FAW to deliver the new Cymru Premier Strategy 2024 – 2030 and to build the profile, brand and awareness of the Cymru Premier to enhance the league’s online profile, engage with fans, and drive revenue growth.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY
The key accountabilities and responsibilities are as follows:
Analytics Reporting and Insights:
- Develop and maintain regular reporting mechanisms to track and analyse digital performance metrics across all platforms, including social media, website, and content engagement.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across all digital channels, including website, social media, and email marketing etc.
- Use analytics tools to gather data, interpret results and create comprehensive reports.
- Identify patterns and insights from data to inform content strategy, marketing campaigns and fan engagement initiatives.
- Present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders, including senior management, marketing teams, and league partners, to inform decision-making and drive digital growth initiatives.
Website Management
- Oversee the Cymru Premier’s official website, ensuring it is user-friendly, up-to-date, and serves as a comprehensive hub for news, fixtures, and information.
- Collaborate with web developers and designers to implement enhancements, improve functionality, and optimize the user experience based on analytics insights.
- Regularly analyse website traffic, user engagement, and conversion metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and inform content strategy.
Content Performance Monitoring
- Evaluate the performance of digital content and campaigns, providing actionable feedback to the content and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with the creative team to ensure that content aligns with data-driven insights and audience preferences.
Strategy Development
- Assist in the development of digital marketing strategies that increase brand visibility and fan engagement.
- Support the execution of these strategies through targeted digital campaigns and initiatives.
Engagement and Growth
- Develop and implement strategies to grow digital audiences and enhance fan interaction across all platforms.
- Utilize data to segment audiences and create personalized engagement plans to foster a deeper connection with fans.
- The Digital Engagement Executive will also explore how the domestic game can generate additional coverage beyond the league’s own platforms.
- The Digital Engagement Executive will also be expected to apply the above responsibilities and accountabilities to other areas of work undertaken by the FAW. It is also important for the Digital Engagement Executive to implement and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Educated to degree level in digital media, marketing, data analytics or a related field, or the equivalent work experience.
Two to three years’ experience in a media / marketing position.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience - Essential:
A strong knowledge and understanding of Welsh domestic football.
A passion to grow football in Wales.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to drive digital strategy.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Strong proficiency in digital analytics tools and platforms, such as Google Analytics and social media monitoring tools.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner and tailor messaging for different digital platforms and audiences.
Personal attributes including Customer Service, Creativity, Client Relationships, Interpersonal Communication, and Written and Verbal Communication.
The ability to work as part of a team but also without supervision.
Excellent organisational and planning skills.
Ability to continually learn and adapt to change.
Experience of Microsoft applications, for example Word, Excel and Outlook are essential.
The ability to work outside of normal working hours.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience - Desirable:
Spoken and written Welsh is desirable.
The appointment of the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and two professional / personal references, to the satisfaction of the FAW.
