The Opportunity
Torquay United Football Club is offering an ambitious youth-development professional the unique opportunity to transform the club’s Academy into a premier talent pipeline. Mirroring the renowned development models of clubs like Exeter City and Crewe Alexandra, this role centers on building a sustainable, top-tier player pathway rooted directly in the South Devon community.

Role Purpose & Strategic Vision
The Head of Youth Development will be responsible for creating an environment where young local talent can thrive, mature, and seamlessly transition into the first team. By aligning elite coaching standards with community outreach, the successful candidate will establish a legacy that elevates the club's long-term competitive and financial standing.

Key Responsibilities

 ⭐️ Oversee the strategic growth, operational management, and administrative direction of the youth academy.

 ⭐️ Design, articulate, and implement a unified, club-wide coaching philosophy across all age brackets.

 ⭐️ Build a robust scouting and recruitment network focused on identifying top talent in South Devon.

 ⭐️ Create structured individual development plans to accelerate player progression into senior football.

 ⭐️ Lead, mentor, and evaluate academy coaching staff to ensure high standards of instruction and player care.

 ⭐️ Maintain clear pathways and communication channels between the academy, first-team staff, and local grassroots clubs.

Candidate Profile

 ⭐️ Proven background in youth coaching and football administration within elite or professional setups.

 ⭐️ Possess required coaching credentials (e.g., UEFA A or B License, Youth Award qualifications).

 ⭐️ Deep understanding of player pathways, talent identification, and modern coaching methodologies.

 ⭐️ Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
