Description

Grimsby Town Football Club is seeking to appoint a Head of Medical to lead and oversee the delivery of all medical services for the Men’s First Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking practitioner to play a key role within the Club’s multidisciplinary performance team, helping to optimise player availability, wellbeing and performance through an evidence-based approach to injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-play.

The successful candidate will lead the Club’s medical programme, providing strategic oversight across the wider player pathway while working closely with coaching, performance and medical staff to support the development and success of our players.

Based at Blundell Park and the Club’s training facilities, the role will involve leading medical provision for all First Team training sessions and fixtures, managing player rehabilitation programmes, contributing to recruitment medical assessments, overseeing anti-doping compliance and driving the continued evolution of the Club’s medical services.

Applicants must hold a minimum BSc in Physiotherapy, be registered with both the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and possess the Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) qualification alongside an FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.

We are looking for an individual with previous experience working within elite sport, strong leadership and communication skills, and a thorough understanding of professional football and player performance environments.

The position is a full-time, permanent role offering a salary of £40,000 – £44,000 per annum, dependent on experience, alongside a range of employee benefits including:

  • 33 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme
  • Complimentary tickets to Grimsby Town home matches
  • Staff discount in the Club Shop
  • Staff social activities
  • Access to health and wellbeing support, including occupational health and confidential counselling services
