Description
Lancashire Football Association is seeking a dedicated, highly motivated and inspiring individual to join our Football Development Team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract with the ideal candidate able to start in August 2026. The role is aligned to The FA's National Game Strategy and the successful candidate will lead football development activity across Barrow, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Rossendale, supporting clubs, leagues and partners to grow and develop grassroots football, as well as leading on Club and League Accreditation across Lancashire.
The ideal candidate will have a sport development background and demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting communities across the area, working with traditional leagues and clubs, alongside non-traditional community-based partners.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role working 35 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and weekend commitments where required. Although based at Lancashire FA, there will be travel across the key activity areas highlighted, and opportunities to work remotely and flexibly.
Working within a busy, high-performing team, excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, along with a strong understanding of grassroots football development and the role that sustainable development programmes play within local communities. Knowledge of Barrow, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Rossendale would be advantageous to help maximise the impact of the role.
