Description

About The Role

The First Team Physiotherapist will be responsible for the daily delivery of physiotherapy services to First Team players, ensuring the highest standards of injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and injury prevention.
 

Working closely with the Lead Rehabilitation Physiotherapist, Club Doctor and Performance Department, the postholder will play a key role in maximising player availability, reducing injury risk and supporting optimal physical performance throughout the season.

 

The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care, oversee the management of acute and chronic injuries, contribute to return-to-play decision-making, and support the implementation of evidence-based medical and performance strategies within a high-performance football environment. This role requires excellent clinical reasoning, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

 

About The Candidate

Essential:
• Degree in Physiotherapy
• HCPC registered physiotherapist 
• FA Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) Certificate, or equivalent 
• Significant clinical experience within elite sport, with professional football experience preferred. 
• Experience managing complex injuries and return-to-play processes.

Desirable:
• MSc in Sports Physiotherapy, Sports Medicine or related field.
• FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF) Certificate, or equivalent
• Experience within First Team professional football. 
• Experience line-managing staff within a multidisciplinary performance environment.
