The Impact You'll Make
As our First Team Goalkeeping Coach, you will be the driving force behind the
performance, confidence, and consistency of our goalkeepers.
You’ll work closely with the First Team Manager and coaching staff to design and deliver
elite-level training programmes that prepare our keepers for the demands of
competitive football while also collaborating with the Academy to ensure a seamless
progression for emerging talent.
Your expertise will not only sharpen technical skills but also build the mental resilience
needed to perform under pressure.
Your work will directly influence our results on the pitch and the long-term success of
our player development pathway.
What You'll Do
Plan, deliver, and review high-intensity, position-specific training sessions for all First
Team goalkeepers.
Analyse match footage and training performances to provide detailed, constructive
feedback and to identify strengths, weaknesses, and tactical opportunities for our
goalkeepers in set-piece situations.
Collaborate with the First Team Manager and performance staff to integrate goalkeeping
work into the wider tactical and physical programme.
Collaborate closely with the First Team Manager and Coaches to develop and
implement strategies for defending and attacking set plays.
Prepare goalkeepers for matchday through tailored warm-ups, mental preparation, and
tactical briefings.
Monitor and support goalkeeper development, including injury prevention and
rehabilitation in partnership with medical staff.
Stay ahead of the game by researching and applying the latest goalkeeping techniques,
technologies, and trends.
Work closely with the Academy Goalkeeping Coach to identify, mentor, and integrate
promising young keepers into First Team training environments.
Maintain detailed performance records and contribute to recruitment discussions for
goalkeeping positions.
What You'll Bring
Proven experience coaching goalkeepers at a professional or semi-professional level.
UEFA B Licence (minimum) with a recognised Goalkeeping Coaching qualification
(UEFA Goalkeeping B or higher preferred).
Strong understanding of modern goalkeeping trends and demands - from techniques,
tactical demands, distribution, and positioning to decision-making under pressure.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge
players of all ages and backgrounds.
A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary
team.
High levels of professionalism, organisation, and attention to detail.

Qualifications (Essential) – UEFA Goalkeeping B Licence (or working towards
completing B Licence)
Experience (Essential) - Experience working in a role within a professional football club,
coaching goalkeepers at the Academy, Development, or 1st team level.
