Purpose of the Role
Unlike most data collection roles in football, which sit with external data providers, this position is embedded within the Club. The post holder will help build and maintain our bespoke football datasets across both First Team Performance and Player Recruitment before transforming that information into meaningful insights that directly support football decision-making.

Key Performance Indicators
• The post holder collects, maintains and updates multiple bespoke football datasets, ensuring they remain accurate, complete, and current throughout the season.
• The post holder consistently achieves a high standard of data quality by conducting regular validation, quality assurance, and hygiene checks, with identified issues resolved in a timely manner.
• The post holder produces high-quality analytical outputs and actionable insights from collected datasets that support First Team Performance and Player Recruitment decision-making.
• The post holder delivers data collection and analytical outputs within agreed timescales to meet the operational demands of the football department.
Role Specific Responsibilities
The post holder will be required to:
• Collect and quality assure bespoke football data across First Team Performance and Player Recruitment, delivering accurate, reliable, and actionable datasets.
• Maintain high standards of data accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to maintaining data reliability.
• Analyse performance and recruitment data to identify meaningful trends, patterns, and insights, helping to inform evidence-based decision-making across the football department.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Coaching, Player Recruitment, Analysis, and other First Team functions to understand operational needs and to deliver data driven support that enhances planning, preparation, and player evaluation.
• Manage competing priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work within demanding deadlines, including providing support around evening and weekend fixtures as required.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of data collection methodologies, documentation, and best practices, helping to drive efficiency, innovation, and consistency across the department.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, keeping up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and analytical approaches within football and sports performance.
Other
• Be willing to work unsociable hours in line with the annual fixture schedule, which will include evenings and weekends, to fulfil the demands of the role.
