With a proud legacy, a dedicated fan base, and an exciting vision for the future, Derby County offers a dynamic and rewarding work environment both on and off the pitch. The role will require ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and accessible through a single source of truth, and converting complex information into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across the Club.

Key Role Responsibilities:
• Operate as the central source of information and insights, ensuring our BI & platforms support the operational and strategic needs of the Club.

• Build strong working relationships with departments across the Club (including Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Marketing, Football Administration and Academy Operations) to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for improvement and deliver data-driven solutions that enhance efficiency, data quality and user adoption.
• Develop and maintain automated workflows and integrations using technologies such as Power Automate, Azure, APIs, Postman, Python, R, M, DAX, JSON and other appropriate tools to improve operational efficiency, improve data quality and accessibility to reduce manual workloads and enable effective decision-making.
• Develop, maintain and promote standards for data governance, documentation, system configuration and integrations, ensuring data remains accurate, secure and fit for purpose.
• Perform routine system audits, data quality reviews, duplicate management and platform health assessments to ensure long-term system reliability.
• Provide advice, training and ongoing support to colleagues, promoting best practice and increasing the effective use of Business Intelligence tools and data across the Club
• To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the post.

Personal characteristics and experience:
• Minimum 2 years of a data analysis (or similar) role; specifically working with Power BI, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, SharePoint, On-Premises gateway and the wider 365 Ecosystem.
• Minimum 2 years of technical & analytical skills within multiple overlapping systems (a CRM or similar environment).
• Working within a professional sports (or comparable) environment (desirable).
• Deployment of Power BI Dashboards/Reports/Goals to associated services such as Microsoft Teams.
• Experience of using at least 3 of: Power Automate, Power Query, DAX, Python, R, Streamlit and Pandas.
• Solid understanding of data governance, security, and report lifecycle management.
• Good general statistical skills and knowledge of statistical techniques such as clustering and regression modelling (desirable).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information, findings and reports clearly and confidently to a range of audiences, both internally and externally.
• Ability to organise, schedule and adapt work tasks to meet conflicting deadlines and respond to changing situations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Work using own initiative and as part of a team
