The Purpose:
The main responsibility is to work within a multi-disciplinary Medical and Physical Performance team to assist in delivering physiotherapy services to girls at Manchester United’s Girls Academy (U11s to U15s) to support the physical welfare of all players.

Principal Accountabilities:
Generic

  • Ensuring everything is done safely, fairly, effectively, and efficiently.  
  • Responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children and adults at risk.

Specific

  • Providing assessment, treatment, and functional rehabilitation of injured players 
  • Clinical decision-making process (fitness of player to train or play) 
  • Player education (injury prevention) 
  • Communication regarding injury status and rehabilitation of players to coaching staff and parents 
  • All notes and records must be kept securely (PMA)  
  • Abide by the CSP Rules of Professional Conduct 
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with key stakeholders including Manchester United Women and The FA. 
  • Attend meetings, seminars, workshops, networking events and exhibitions relevant to the role, proactively using information and learning to influence current and future programmes and activities.      
  • Undertake and continue personal development as and when required by the club.  
  • Ensure that the club’s code of conduct is upheld in all activities, delivery, and physical appearance.  
  • Must be available at training sessions and attend matches, home and away when required 
  • Collect all relevant data, information, and evidence of good practice to support funding conditions
  • Uphold and promote the Foundation’s Safeguarding policy and those of partners, working in conjunction with both Manchester United FC’s Safeguarding team and partner leads.   
  • Complete Emergency Action Plans to always ensure a safe and healthy working environment in accordance with Manchester United Football Club’s policies.

Qualifications 
Essential 

  • Current Physiotherapy Degree 

Desirable 

  • FA Learning Safeguarding Children certificate 
  • Minimum FA Intermediate First Aid for Sport Certificate 
  • Any other relevant qualification/course 
  • A full UK driving license 
  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Health Care Professions Council 
  • Intermediate Trauma Medical Management 
  • Advanced Trauma Medical Management
