We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Assistant and Set-Piece Coach to support the Head Coach while leading the club’s strategy, design, and delivery of all set-piece work across the first-team environment. This role requires a specialist capable of analysing, creating, and coaching set-piece routines that directly influence match outcomes and enhance team performance.
On-Pitch Responsibilities
• Assist in the planning and delivery of day-to-day training sessions
• Lead on pitch set-up in liaison with multidisciplinary staff
• Lead on unit and individual practices
• Lead on Match Day Warm-Ups
Set-Piece Strategy & Design
• Lead the creation and development of set-piece routines across all phases: goal kicks, throw-ins, corners, free-kicks, attacking/defensive restarts, and transitional restarts.
• Provide detailed opposition set-piece analysis to inform match preparation.
• Build a clear, consistent philosophy and library of set-piece solutions aligned with the Head Coach’s overall game model.
Analysis & Preparation
• Produce concise, high-quality analysis reports and presentations for the Head Coach and technical staff.
• Prepare session materials, video clips, and tactical illustrations to support both individual and team learning.
• Use data and performance insights to evaluate effectiveness and evolve strategies throughout the season.
Delivery & Coaching
• Deliver engaging, structured set-piece briefings in meeting-room environments to staff and players.
• Coach all set-piece work on the pitch during training, ensuring clarity, intensity, and tactical alignment.
• Work closely with unit coaches to integrate set-piece principles within broader team tactics.
Candidate Profile
• Proven experience in set-piece analysis, design, and on-pitch delivery within a professional or elite academy environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present confidently to senior staff and players.
• Excellent tactical understanding and ability to translate ideas into practical, executable routines.
• Forward-thinking, innovative mindset with a desire to contribute to a progressive, detail‑driven environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary staff team.
