Roles: This vacancy is for multiple roles supporting both our Foundation Phase and Youth Development Phase (YDP).

About this role:

Crystal Palace FC Academy are looking for driven, reliable, and passionate people to strengthen the scouting department. Ideally located in London, the chosen individual will play a key role in building relationships with local grassroots clubs and identifying talented players at either YDP or Foundation phase ages. As the club continues to establish itself as a Category 1 Academy, we are keen to develop our scouting and talent identification. Successful candidates would need to be available to watch grassroots games in London at weekends and have an existing knowledge of local football in London.

You will need to have a proven track record of building relationships in the local community and experience of identifying talent in the local area.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and monitoring local grassroots talent to join our Academy by attending games and tournaments in London
  • Helping to build and maintain relationships with local grassroots clubs & coaches.
  • Writing reports to help improve knowledge of players via the club’s scouting system.
  • Attending CPFC Academy Talent ID events and showcase games as requested by your coordinator.
  • Liaising with your coordinator and communicating your weekly scouting activity.
  • Ensuring you are available to attend recruitment department meetings and CPD events.
  • Be available to attend up to 4 games per week
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.


Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • An FA Level 1 in Talent ID
  • A Valid Driving License
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Completed an FA Safeguarding Children Course
  • Full Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Criminal Record Check (CRC)
  • Experience of working in football talent identification
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Flexible and available to work unsociable hours
  • Able to work using your own initiative and as part of a team
